Future Humans Senior Program Manager

Future Humans is seeking a Senior Program Manager to support the program’s operations, logistics, and network development. The Senior Program Manager will join the Future Humans Associate Director and Program Coordinator to drive the successful implementation of the program’s unique model of experimental and experiential philosophical exploration.

Future Humans launched in Fall 2022 and is a developing program within the Institute. Our research traces how the category of the human is shifting and asks, what life will become in the future? Explorations include synthetic and artificial life forms, emergent theories of mind and material, and the condition of extraplanetarity. Projects include the Vaster than Empires science and speculative fiction workshop, the Future Techne Salons, and the Multispecies Constitution. The program has a strong public-facing arts and design perspective.

Future Humans has developed original ideas through publications and programming with intellectual and institutional partners and now seeks to greatly extend them in a variety of fora. The ambition now is to further develop original ideas with extraordinary thinkers and propagate them in the world around three core Research Areas: Time & Consciousness, The Alien, and Embodiment. The ultimate goal is to contribute to a new episteme of life.

The team seeks a Senior Program Manager who will support the development and deployment of experimental platforms, immersive experiences, and publications. These processes and outputs will grow the frameworks and texts originating from the Future Humans’s program across a broader global community. This will include collaborations with the Institute’s Europe and Asia Centers and a broad network of research and cultural institutions. Future Humans will continue to cultivate a focused cohort of world-class scholars, scientists, speculative fiction writers, futurists, and creators and elevate that work to the world’s stage through original intellectual and creative projects.
