Our Operations team has an internship opportunity for Summer 2023. This is a paid internship at a range of $18.00 -$20 per hour and will go for 12 weeks starting in late May 2023. The internship will require in-office work in our downtown Los Angeles offices. The internship will be 25 hours per week with days and times, flexible and to be determined with the hiring manager
The internship is a wonderful opportunity for anyone seeking a career in Operations and/or Human Resources. This is a great internship opportunity for anyone who is interested in gaining more experience in project management tools and methodologies, research, and working with scholars. Our interns will work collaboratively with one another and participate in program-long learnings that will build skills that they can take with them into their education and work experiences going forward.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in organizing programs and events
- Assist in drafting event promotion documents and agendas
- Tracking inventory of office and kitchen supplies
- Restocking kitchen and supply cabinets as needed
- Keep stock closet clean and organized
- Liaise with Operations and HR team for coordination of meetings, Lunch & Learns, and other team-building events
- Support onboarding new employees when necessary, including assisting with workstation set-up, ordering parking passes, office keys, etc.
- Assist in developing Operations projects such as a Staff Library check-out system
- Support planning of all staff retreat to take place at the end of August
- Purchase and distribute parking validations to staff as needed
- Sort mail
- Other duties as assigned
Skills:
- A self-starter who can multitask, take initiative and problem solve
- Has extensive computer skills (Google Workspace a must), impeccable phone etiquette and people skills
- Strong collaboration skills
- A confident self-starter who takes initiative but knows when to ask for help
- An ability to juggle multiple assignments without details falling through the cracks
- Effective cross-departmental communication skills
- Keen attention to detail
- Event planning experience a plus
Salary Range: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour depending on skills and experience.
