Anne O’Connor

Anne O’Connor is completing her PhD in Sociocultural Anthropology at University of California, Davis with designated emphases in Science and Technology Studies and Critical Theory. Her doctoral dissertation analyzes implementation of gene drive technologies for mosquito-borne disease. Exploring how ideas of reproduction and novelty are re-theorized at the interface of laboratory and field, she is interested in broader questions of biotechnology and relational practices. As a Berggruen Institute ToftH Researcher, Anne explores the conceptual histories and stakes of projects bridging biology, computer science, and engineering.
