Hélène Mialet

Anthropologist and Philosopher of Science; 2018-19 Berggruen Fellow at USC Dornsife

Hélène Mialet is a Berggruen Fellow researching the management of chronic disease, the use of prosthetics, computer driven monitoring devices, algorithms and extended medical networks involving assemblages of caregivers, patients, and machines at the University of Southern California. She is an Associate Professor of STS at York University, Toronto and holds a PhD from the University of Paris. She is the author of Hawking Incorporated: Stephen Hawking and the Anthropology of the Knowing Subject (University of Chicago Press), L’Entreprise Créatrice, Le rôle des récits, des objets et de l’acteur dans l’invention (Paris: Hermès-Lavoisier, 2008), and A La Recherche de Stephen Hawking (Paris: Odile Jacob, 2014)
