Matt Prindible

Senior Researcher

Matt Prindible is an interaction designer and researcher currently based in Pittsburgh, PA. His primary research interests concern human encounters with nonhuman intelligences—biological, artificial, or otherwise. For the Transformations of the Human, this means tracing the long history of the machine and how its ongoing conceptualization continues to raise questions about how we define nature, animals, humans, and reason—or, simply put: what is a machine? Future projects include the possible media and imagination that emerges with nonhuman creative partners, and how it raises philosophical stakes for belief and truth. Matt recently completed his MDes at Carnegie Mellon University and previously studied computer and information sciences at Penn State University.
