Tenzin Priyadarshi

Philosopher and Monk; 2017-18 Berggruen Fellow at CASBS

Tenzin Priyadarshi is developing a framework for establishing ethics and governance of Artificial Intelligence at the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University. Trained as a Buddhist monk, he is the director of the Ethics Initiative at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Media Lab and the Founding Director of The Dalai Lama Center for Ethics and Transformative Values at MIT. In 2013, he received the Distinguished Alumni Award from Harvard University for his visionary contributions to humanity.
